Llangollen is an ancient market town situated on the banks of the magnificent River Dee. Lying under the gaze of Dinas Bran Castle, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in North Wales. Its river crossing, one of the seven wonders of Wales, has been here since the times of St Collen after whom the town is named. Visit St Collens Church and marvel at its oak panelled roof and enjoy the serenity of its interior.

Home to the International Musical Eisteddfod, the towns population of just over 3,000 rises to overflowing during this famous week in July. The atmosphere created during the festival by the many thousands of overseas competitors makes the town a magnet for all.

Lots to do and look at, Llangollen is still a thriving market town, the market is held every Tuesday on the central car park, with lots of local produce on sale as well as more traditional market goods. The WI hold a market in the town hall every Friday, selling home made goods.
